We believe that many achievements have already been made in this area, but we know that there is still much to be done and many challenges to be faced and, therefore, we are increasingly engaged in promoting actions that encourage debate and the dissemination of information.

The Vivarium of the Future Workshop addressed topics of great importance, which were taught by renowned experts in the field of animal research:

  • Ethics and Animal Welfare – Speaker Dr. Ekaterina Rivera
  • Reproducibility: Vivariums and Models – Speaker Dr. Luisa Braga
  • Animal Health and Microbiota: Interference in Experimental Results – Speaker Dr. Rovilson Gilioli
  • The Vivarium of the Future – Speaker Dr. Marcel Frajblat

In addition to a day full of knowledge and exchange of ideas and experiences, we also had a beautiful tribute to Dr. Ekaterina Rivera, who received this year the title of researcher emeritus from CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). This is one more reason that fills us with pride and further reinforces the training of professionals who are at the forefront of scientific research in Brazil. Congratulations on the well-deserved recognition Dr. Ekaterina.

Among the guests of the event, we had professionals and researchers from important institutions such as: Fiocruz, Biomanguinhos, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazilian Navy, Fluminense Federal University (UFF), Vital Brazil Institute (IVB), UNIFESO, among others.

Check out the testimonials of some participants: “I loved it very much. A super high-level event. Whenever I have any, I’ll want to participate!” (Renata Medeiros – Fiocruz)

“I appreciate the opportunity to learn more, meet new and great people and be able to see up close the cutting-edge technology of Tecniplast that Steq presented to us.” (Ellen Schmidt – UFRJ)

“Excellent opportunity to learn more from the renowned colleagues who spoke.” (Klena Sarges- Fiocruz) “I confess that it was a day of pure learning. I left the event very happy, because I think that knowledge is always welcome, it opens our horizons and, in addition, we leave our area of knowledge and we start to make new reflections. Congratulations to everyone for the event.” (Cláudia Souto – Fiocruz) “The Workshop brought, in an innovative way, the main projections in laboratory animal science in the not too distant future, through lectures by extremely competent professionals in the area. I would like to thank everyone for the learning opportunity.” (Luiz Ricardo Berbert, PhD – UFRJ) “Workshop of excellent quality, with themes and discussions that are very relevant not only for the vivarium of the future, but also for our current reality. Not to mention the level of the speakers, there are no words to describe their importance for laboratory animal science. Congratulations on the event!” (Bruno Duque – Fiocruz) “Congratulations on the event! Very well organized and a high level of speakers. It was really very fruitful. I am grateful for the opportunity.” (Marcel Vasconcellos – UNIFESO)

We thank everyone involved, speakers and guests, for their enormous contribution to the event. Having them with us in this important mission was fundamental for us to achieve our main objective: to share knowledge!
