The detection and identification of small defects helps a lot in preventing unexpected downtime. By following these simple tips, it is also possible to gain in performance and reduce costs with asset preservation. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Once a week<\/strong><strong>in the<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"post_content\">\n<div class=\"widget_container content_page\">\n<div id=\"post-3513\" class=\"post-3513 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-dicas tag-autoclave tag-cuidados-com-autoclaves tag-getinge tag-manutencao-preventiva-autoclaves\">\n<div class=\"single_section_content box blog_large_post_style\">\n<div class=\"post_content\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Check the air intake filter to see if it is seated and secure. \u2022 Empty and clean the steam generator of deposits and scales: \u2013 Switch off the autoclave and close the water or steam supply; \u2013 Expect the pressure gauge to drop to approximately 0.1 bar(e) \/ 10 kPa(e); \u2013 Where applicable, remove the safety cap that prevents accidental opening of the steam generator&#8217;s drain valve; \u2013 Slowly open the drain valve. The steam generator must be emptied completely; \u2013 When emptying is complete, close the valves and restart any device that protects against accidental opening; \u2013 Where applicable, open the steam supply again; \u2013 Turn on the autoclave and acknowledge the alarm; \u2013 Proceed and fill generator with water; \u2013 Test the operation of the dry boil protection.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monthly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Check that the closing movement of the door can be stopped by gently pushing the guard plate in the anti-movement direction of the door.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quarterly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Check the door seal seal. If necessary, lubricate or replace the seal. Remember that special operating conditions may require shorter or longer intervals of checking. \u2022 Perform a leak test using the <em>Leak Test<\/em> cycle.  <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Semiannually<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Clean all filters and seals. \u2022 Perform a leak test using the <em>Leak Test<\/em> cycle. \u2022 Clean all traps. Remove the dirt deposited on the bottom and on the floats. \u2022 Check that the piping in the unit installation is watertight. \u2022 Seal all leaks. Replace any draining gaskets. \u2022 Check that all the screws on the power, ground, and neutral cables are tight. \u2022 Clean the intake filter at the float valve inlet. \u2022 Clean the intake filter at the inlet of the cooling water valve. \u2022 Perform the following routines for the door: \u2013 Check the action of the door; \u2013 Check the position of the door, vertically, laterally and backwards\/forwards; \u2013 Verification of the operation of the sealing seal and its fitting; \u2013 Lubricate or replace the door seal if necessary;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Check the seals on all safety valves. If the seal is not intact, the valve has to be replaced. \u2022 Check if any of the safety valves are running water or steam. \u2022 Check the tightness of the resistances and fixings of the level control electrode. \u2022 Check that the end screws on the resistors are tight. \u2022 Check that the pressure in the steam generator is regulated within the limits specified in the electrical diagram. \u2022 Check that the safety contactors are on and off by flipping the switch. \u2022 Check the operation of the operation panel, all LEDs, and the printer, if any. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annually<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Temperature and pressure sensors linked to the control system must be verified with documented accuracy, traceable to a national standard. The temperature measurement error should not exceed 0.5 \u00b0C and that of the pressure should not exceed \u00b18 mbar \/ \u00b10.8 kPa \/ \u00b10.115 psi within a range 0-1 bar(a) \/ 0-100 kPa(a). \u2022 Check and adjust the water level in the water feed tank so that it is approximately 12 mm below the overflow. \u2022 Check that the inlet and return water do not cause bubbles in the water supply.
